Eleaf iStick PICO Kit Review

Mods on the iconic iStick series have always been known to be user-friendly, reliable, and affordable. And this does not surprise me why the eLeaf iStick is known to be one of the most well-known brand names in the vaping universe. (Visit https://nzecigstore.co.nz)

The Chinese firm has been a front-runner in this industry, and its newest iStick PICO 75W shows that it still has an edge. This device may be small but it is packed with so many features and specs. And when paired with the new Melo 3 mini sub-ohm tank, this mod transforms into a fog-making machine. But let’s see if this will qualify your kit preference.

The iStick PICO starter kit is presented in a plastic-wrapped white cardboard. The box contains an iStick PICO mod (without cell), an eLeaf Melo 3 mini tank, an eLeaf EC 3.0 ohm head, an eLeaf EC 0.5 ohm head, four seal rings, a USB cable, and a user manual. Get the device for only NZD $75.99 at www.nzecigstore.co.nz, with available black and pink colors.

The package is already worth the price and is suitable both for beginner and intermediate vapers who want to make the transition to advanced mods. Note: if this is where you are headed to, just secure an 18650 battery, some e-liquid, and you are all good.

First impression, the iStick PICO is tiny, measuring only 45 mm by 23 mm by 70.5 mm (tank not included). If you have already seen an 18650 battery, the mod is even smaller than that. In fact, it can easily fit in the smallest pockets and purses, so its portability factor is really an advantage. It also comes with a battery extension cap, which is the round thing sitting next to the 510 connection. The cap is very easy to attach and remove in case you need to replace the battery. Such design may not be amenable to all its users, but it serves its purpose, which is to accommodate an 18650 battery while keeping your mod as small as possible.

The positioning of the buttons is a bit interesting as well. The mod has a curve fire button that sits on one side of the device, just above the large LCD display and micro-USB charging or update port. Meanwhile, the adjustment (+) and (-) buttons are placed at the bottom part of the mod and in a small curvature so they are flush. The location actually prevents users from accidentally pressing the buttons when you place the mod on a flat or tight surface. It can be a little awkward for others who are used to the conventional positions but you will eventually appreciate the clean look it gives.

The mod also comes with an LCD display. It has a large font, so even vapers with vision problems can easily read the information. During standby, the screen shows off the set wattage or temperature in larger font, while resistance and voltage in smaller fonts. But once you click the fire button, the screen reveals a puff timer instead.

Basically, in terms of size and design, the iStick PICO 75W mod is a good deal! But what is beauty if it performs poorly? Let’s see how impressive this mod’s features and performance can be.

The PICO is actually the first upgradeable firmware device from iStick. You can upgrade your devices to the latest technology by simply connecting it to a computer through the micro-USB port. So on instances when iStick decides to upgrade the PICO to 100W instead of the current 75W, all you have to do is plug the device and viola you are all done. This device is also capable of pass-through, which means you can vape and charge at the same time. It is powered by a single battery mod.

However, for such a tiny and basic-looking mod, I find its menu a bit overwhelming. You may need more patience exploring its features and familiarizing the different press combinations. For instance, clicking the fire button in three rapid succession will allow you to browse through the various modes. From this, you can already select from wattage, bypass (mech mode), and temperature control that supports nickel, titanium, and stainless steel. The kit also comes in three different modes and each has its own TCR (or temperature coefficient of resistance). You can also place the mod in stealth mode.

For a complete vaping experience, make sure you pair this compact mode with the delicious e-juices from Caktus Juice. There are seven different flavors to choose from; Strawberry, Tangy Grape, Pineapple, Tangy Apple, Watermelon, Toffee Apple, Strawberry Cream, and Berry Crunch. Grab a 7-ml bottle for only NZD $7.99 at NZ Ecig Store. All flavors come in different nicotine concentration strengths.
